HAPPY DIGITAL SCRAPBOOKING DAY! New Kit & November Storms -

Happy Digital Scrapbooking Day Friends!
I hope all of you have plenty of time to scrap this weekend, and, hopefully, you have more spare pennies than I do right now and can enjoy all of the fabulous sales going on in DigiLand! Smiles...

I am late getting this update posted for a couple of reasons. We have been getting literally pounded by torrential rains here in Washington, along with thunder, lightning, hail, the whole shamoley. At times, it has been as dark as night during the daytime...LOL! During the worst moments, I vacate this little office because the noise is deafening and pine cones sound like mortars hitting the roof...In other words, I run like a scared little bunny...Giggles...

When I prepared to post earlier, the DSB Designers received an email from Sweetmade to let us know that our store was down completely. It appears to have been a data base issue, but I truly know nothing of these things and was just thankful to hear we had not been hacked, since this seems to be happening more often to digital scrap sites. Why these guys would want to pick on Scrapbookers is beyond me, but I have noticed that they seem to target sites that are generally more important to women. Perhaps they feel threatened when we bond over artistic ventures? Who knows...

At any rate, the store is back up and running now so we have not missed DSD altogether. AND, we are having a Storewide 40 Percent Off SALE to celebrate the festivities. Spend $5.00 or more and you will receive a Free Giftie Bag! So, I will now share my newest kit with you, A HEART FOR ALL SEASONS - A HEART FOR ALL SEASONS is a Softly Romantic Kit With a Hint of Altered Vintage and Feminine Appeal. Every Letter of the Heart "Junque Deco" Alpha Features Different Treasures Beneath the Glass Cover. A Charming, and Oh So Dottie Black and White Lower Case Alpha, Punctuation, Numbers and Word Art Can Be Used Along With the Heart Alpha to Create Some Unique Titlework On Your Pages. Lots of Pretty Sparkle and Hearts Add to the Ambience! I Think This Kit is Extremely Versatile! A Kit Dedicated to Love, in All Its Many Precious Forms - From Contemporary to Heritage.Hope you like what you see...Smiles. This is a very good time to pick up THE ATC LOVER'S ULTIMATE DREAM KIT for the lowest price it will probably ever be, and SOMEWHERE BEYOND THE DREAM is a mere $2.99!

I honestly doubt if I will have time to get a blog gift together - I really want to take a little break and do some scrapping of my own in between spending time with DH. My Sweetie has a job interview on Wednesday - If hired, he will be working for the State of Washington and I will be adapting to taking the Metro to work. I will certainly miss having My Love at home on a daily basis, but our bills will get paid a lot faster with both of us employed full time. Then, perhaps, someday...(dreaming out loud), I can scale back my hours and spend more time designing, scrapping, writing and working around our home. I am desperate to complete the Heritage Books for my children, but I am almost certain this will not happen by Christmas. I'll share a few pages I have completed (I think) soon, so I can hopefully get some opinions and perhaps a little help. Smiles...I have learned to save as PSD's now so I can change up until I send them to be printed. My tastes have started changing again where layouts are concerned. I used to add so much color, even to Heritage Pages, but lately, I don't know, I am drawn to darker, starker, less busy...Another phase I am going through.

Well, tis 2 a.m...Sweet Dreams...
Hugs and Kisses!
Idgie
P.S. I did create some mini scraps today...These are a dear friend that I saw recently at a wonderful get together for a special occasion. I didn't want to send the pics out to another precious friend without at least touching them up a bit, so here they are...A story telling series of three featuring, Our Beautiful Sherril -I have known this Lovely Lady (Special Ed Teacher) for 30 some odd years now - She is a whole bunch o' fun! I used Linda Gil Billdal's "Ornate Sheets" for the Backdrop and Brandy Murry's "Back Porch Clusters" for the Decor.

SOMEWHERE BEYOND THE DREAM and FALLING FOR FALL COLLAB at DigiscrapBoutique

Happy Weekend Scrappin' Friends -
I, as usual, am struggling with time management and still fighting an upper respiratory infection that just won't seem to go away. Popping in to show previews of my new kit, SOMEWHERE BEYOND THE DREAM and also to share previews and links to our FALLING FOR FALL Collab Kit at DigiscrapBoutique. Then, I must return to work (Digi) for a while and try to prepare myself mentally/physically for another week at my "outside" job. Truly, not enough energy to go around lately. To top it off, I am stressing out about getting a Heritage Book created for my children for Christmas this year. I have picked out the perfect kit(s) for the majority of this project though - One of the most BEAUTIMOUS Collabs I have ever purchased - TAKE ME TO THE OLD WORLD, by Lotta, SussieM and Lily Designs. You must buy each portion in the designer's personal stores, but trust me, it is worth every penny, and then some! I am literally blown away by the talent and creativity these ladies share! As I was downloading and viewing the files, I honestly considered giving up designing altogether and going back to scrapping in my spare time! That said, here are the previews to SOMEWHERE BEYOND THE DREAM, which borders on being a Mini Kit for me...LOL!SOMEWHERE BEYOND THE DREAM is a Soft, Sweet, Feminine Kit, Designed to Depict the Dreams We Might Have When We Are Awake. With Lots of Sparkle to Brighten Even the Dreariest of Days, I Hope You Can Be Inspired to Scrap Some of Your Own Waking Dreams With This Kit. Only Available at DigiscrapBoutique and ON SALE for $3.00. Here are the previews of our Collab Kit:My Portion:There are additional previews in the store, PLUS, if you buy the kit now for $6.00, the QP's will be included as a FREE GIFT.

Life of a "BAD BLOGGER", News AND, a FREEBIE

Ah...Where shall I begin since my last post was forever ago...Sigh...Playing catch up is a daunting task. Truth be told, this entire blog needs a MAKEOVER! But I digress.
Many of you already know this story, so I will attempt to add a condensed version of 2009 in this post so I can get on with the more exciting news, previews, and, a FREEBIE for all of you.
Back in February, my DH had to close his restaurant, which he had owned with 2 partners for over 35 years. The poor economy finally took its toll, along with the extreme weather we experienced here in Washington State from November through February. Needless to say, this was a devastating blow to his mental state, not to mention our finances. Being the positive people we both are, it didn't take long to find a silver lining or two. First and Foremost, we finally got to spend our weekends together! YEAH! DH was finally able to spend time at home on projects he has been wanting to accomplish for several years. The benefits really do go on and on.
Mid February, I started working at 24 Hour Fitness, figuring, if nothing else, our gym memberships would be free! The new schedule definitely put a crimp in my designing and scrapping time, but overall, I have no complaints about my job. I am PROUD to be associated with a company that helps people change their lives, LOVE the people I work with and am treated very well. BONUS: I have lost 34 pounds in 4 months time and am back in the 120's! HOORAY FOR ME!
I have an Absolutely ADORABLE new Grandson, Porter Jude, who is nearing 6 months old. I have photos of him at FACEBOOK - Look me up - Laurie Ann Wells Phinney - I'll be happy to add you to my list of friends!
I am still designing at every opportunity and have added several new kits to my store at DigiScraps-N-More. I'll share some previews after my next bit of news...Smiles...
Recently, DigiScrapBoutique had a Designer Call, and on a whim, I applied. I was accepted and feel honored to be selling in a venue with so many talented designers. I added my debut kit, THE NATURE DIARIES, last night. I am planning a series of kits that will all work well together, so stay tuned. Today's FREEBIE is a gift of 7 "REAL PHOTO" Charms that I hope you will enjoy. All photos were captured by DH and myself, and are copyrighted images, so I ask in good faith that you do not claim them as your own, redistribute, etc. Use them to illustrate a theme on your layouts, add funny captions comparing them to people in your own pictures...Have Fun! I would LOVE to see what you do with them, so please leave me a note and a link if you create a page, card, invitation, anything!
On to my previews of THE NATURE DIARIES - (Click On Images For a Closer View)THE NATURE DIARIES is my debut kit at Digiscrap Boutique, and the first in a series I am planning. Celebrating all aspects of nature, these kits will be perfect for your precious seasonal photos of flora, fauna, and just about any other subject you can imagine. As is "my nature", there is always a hint of vintage, blended with a touch of whimsy. Warm, Earthy Colors Combine With a Few Shouts of Brighter Colored Accents for contrast. Somewhere in the ballpark of 546 MB. Rather than make you wait any longer, here is the FREEBIE Preview and Link - Then on to my latest kits at DigiScraps-N-More:You May Pick These Up HERE, and Please Remember, a Thank You goes right straight to a Designer's Heart! Smiles...
New Kits at DSNM - ESTELLE ANNABELLE -PLEASANTVILLE -GENERATIONS III -ALTERED BITS & PIECES -WHEW - I think that is it - Now I get to hit PUBLISH and see how many mistakes I need to go back and correct...Smiles...
Wishing All of You Life's Kindest Blessings - Love, Laughter and Good Health. Thank You For Your Friendship and Continued Support!
Love and Hugs!

New Kit: GENERATIONS II And a Little Freebie

It seems as if I am always posting a new kit on TGIF! Smiles... I am rushing today, but wanted to share my new kit, GENERATIONS II, previews and a little FREEBIE for all of you - I am sorry it has been awhile since I shared...So much going on.

I would like to wish my Wonderful Son, Matthew, a HAPPY 23rd BIRTHDAY! My Baby...Sigh. Matthew was actually due on January 6th., but as you can see, was anxious to make his way into the world. He is, and has always been, a Joyous Blessing!

Originally, I Intended For GENERATIONS II to Be a Simple Add-On Kit For GENERATIONS I, But This Kit Had a Mind of its Own, and Once it Reached a Size Which Demanded a Personalized Zip Code, I Knew it Had Progressed to a Full Size Kit and Then Some...Smiles... GENERATIONS Will Now Become a Heritage Series!

A Mix of Elegant and Vintage, GENERATIONS II Provides a Vast Array of Wonderful Elements For Your Scrapping Pleasure! There Are So Many Sweet Goodies Tucked Here and There in My Previews That You Cannot Possibly See Them All! Oodles of Intricate Lace Items and Details. The Entire Kit is Right At 680 MB! A Good Portion of This Number is the Alphas (5 Sets), But There Are a Total of 69 Elements and the Gorgeous Papers (20) Also. During These Times of a Struggling Economy I Want You to Receive a Whole Bunch of Happy For Your Money, So My Kits Will Remain On Sale Until the Light at the End of the Tunnel Has Been Turned Back On!No doubt in my mind that there will be a GENERATIONS III. LOL! Your FREEBIE is nothing fancy, but I am hooked on making this type of word art since I finally learned how to use a certain technique that used to drive me crazy. I hope that you enjoy it, and I will do my best to add more goodies throughout this next week...The last week of October - OH MY!!! I absolutely, positively, need to work night and day on Christmas Presents!!!The Background and Packaging Are Not Included With This Gift. Two FREEBIES

There are two Freebies today, because this is the last of the Ugly Duckling graphics and I found a couple of funnies I wanted to share as they made me giggle. In reply to Annie's 4shared comment: These vintage books can be quite spendy Sweetie. I owned an antique mall for over a decade so was able to collect many wonderful items through auctions, consignment sales, etc. If you are really interested though, I suggest you do a search on ebay as things tend to slip through the cracks on there right now due to sheer volume and the state of the economy. There are bargains to be found. The last of the Ugling Duckling can be found HERE. And here's a blast from the past...LOL!These images are from two different books - The first one really tickled my funny bone. You will find The Old Woman and Her Many Children HERE. Enjoy! Wishing Everyone a Perfect Week!

More UGLY DUCKLING Freebies

What a day! I nearly drove myself insane working on two layouts, which I intended to be quite simple for the sake of expediency. Of course, once I had the photos on the backgrounds, I got a bright idea...One that had me tearing my hair out and banging QWERTY into my forehead all the live long day...LOL! Neither page is finished, but I can laugh about the situation now, knowing that when others finally get to view these pages, they will have absolutely no idea the stress involved in their creation. Giggles. In fact, truth be told, they look rather Plain Jane. (Hmmmm...Must see what I can do about that) It was the techniques that had me flustered. In the meantime, my daughter-in-law sent me the most adorable pictures of my son and granddaughter at the Punkin' Patch today and I am so anxious to start playing with them!!! DH has the day off tomorrow, so we will be busy with other things...hopefully, outdoors, if the weather cooperates. Now on to your FREEBIE and back to my layouts. The Duckling and the Swans May Be Picked Up HERE. Please leave a little love behind. Dear Sweet Rose! I am so very sorry about the loss of your Mother Dearheart. I know how hard it is to lose one of the most important people in our lives. I am wrapping you in a warm, loving hug. Thank You for leaving your Lovely Comments Hon - They mean the world to me! Heidi, in answer to your question posted at 4shared; No, I do not draw these graphics by hand. I only wish I was that talented. Grin. These are very old lithographs from vintage children's books in my collection. First I scan the pages, then I extract the images, removing the backgrounds, and then I try to do a bit of touch up, depending on the condition of the finished product. Thank You So Much For Your Sweet Comments!
Oops, Almost Forgot. I have been adding items to my store, several were commercial use products I had in another store before becoming an Exclusive Designer at DigiScraps-N-More. However, here is one new item:Commercial Use SEA STAMPS.19 Finely Detailed PNG Stamps Featuring a Variety of Exquisite Sealife. No Alterations Needed if You Are Adding These to a Full Sized Kit, But Live a Little...Smiles...
